Supporting Each Age Group

Newbies

Newbies/Gonna-be’s are monthly brunches in members’ homes or in other community centers in Boulder County. Expectant parents and parents with children under a year share stories, make friends, ask questions, and get support from each other and from board members. Names and phone numbers are shared and parents can make future play dates. Grandparents, fathers, nannies, and older siblings are all invited. We alternate between weekday and weekend mornings.

Toddler Time

Not sure what to do after Newbies? Toddler Time is a chance for moms and dads with one- and two-year-olds to get out of the house and have a good time. Knowing that your children now run around and get into everything, we offer a place where they can do it and you don’t have to worry about the mess. We meet once a month for playtimes at members’ houses, children’s museums, playgrounds and other locations around town appropriate for toddlers. These events are usually on weekday mornings.

Big Kid Events

The club offers a wide variety of activities throughout the year that are designed to help children socialize with other multiples. As children get older and understand how to play with others and make friends, we provide at least one activity per month for them to have fun and make friends. Some of the activities we’ve done in the past include swimming, children’s plays, berry picking, museums, tea parties, fire station and other tours, and vists to the planetarium. These outings are usually scheduled on weekends to accommodate various preschool and elementary schedules.

Family Events

Summer Picnic

Every summer, typically in August, the club hosts a summer picnic for families with children of all ages. The club rents a park or other private venue to share a potluck picnic. The parents get time to connect with other parents of multiples while the kids play with others who understand the unique perspective of being a twin or triplet. In the past we have arranges for face painting, games, crafts, and even pony rides when the picnic is on a farm.

Winter Festival

This potluck lunch typically takes place in early December. Children love completing the holiday crafts and singing with local musicians. Santa makes an exciting appearance and a photographer is on hand to capture the little ones on his lap. Complimentary photos are sent to you.

Other regularly-scheduled family events include the annual camping trip in July, participating in the Longmont Halloween Parade, and a club Halloween party.

Just for Moms

Mom’s Night Out

Busy moms who need a break enjoy the frequent Mom’s Night Out. Moms dine on the patio at Chautauqua Dining Hall in the summer or get out early on a weekend morning to have breakfast at Lucille’s in Longmont. Other events have been movie nights, ice skating, fondue, and home spa parties.

Annual Mom’s Getaway Weekend

In the fall the club organizes an opportunity for just moms to take a break and get away to the mountains. This relaxing weekend offers hiking, biking, shopping, spa treatments, or just some quiet time to read a book.

Educational Events

The club offers a variety of educational events throughout the year. Some of the speakers in the last year have addressed potty training, feeding issues, meal planning, CPR, choosing preschools, parenting techniques, and child safety.

Club Sale

Each spring and fall, BCPTM hosts a Twins Club Sale. This is a great opportunity for club members to sell and purchase gently used infant and children’s clothing, toys and equipment. Only club members can sell at the sale, shop before the general public, and work at the sale in order to shop the Workers Only Sale. You must be a club member at least two weeks before the sale in order to sell.

For instructions and tips on the clothing download the Sellers Guide. For questions regarding the sale please email sale@boulder-twins.org
